Hey

Just to let those of you who don't know my internet/computer isn't really working and I will blog when I can. And there are still some blogs that I can't seem to get to but I think it's me and not you.

Sandwiches

There's a song...it goes sandwiches are beautiful sandwiches are good if I had a 100 sandwiches I'd eat them if I could....or at least I think it goes like that. Any way because I can get pictures to load here they are.

Michael eating a sandwich at his birthday party. It was his first time and he LOVED it. They were the grandma party kind of sandwiches with half white bread and half brown and all cut in triangles, you know? He even ate the lettuce which Gabriel won't touch. Unfortunately it was a gorgeous day and the lighting doesn't work because of the sliding door behind me but hopefully you get the point. He was a MONSTER for sandwiches!

ARG!

There are 9 blogs that I can't seem to get to and or comment on. I have been emptying my cookies every time I log on and I don't think it's making a difference anymore. Now I'm going to try and load the Michael movies.

Clarification

The movies aren't loading properly (big surprise!) So I am working on it.
RW- I STARTED blogging because of Heidi. I might be CONTINUING to blog just for you. (lol:))
The bib in Michael's pic says UFC 86, the theory is that he will be in the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) in 25 years since last night was UFC 63. There's the math, except that ther is more than one per year.
For now I am still tidying up, doing dishes and trying to get my book order in.
When the stuff loads it'll be here ok?

Happy Birthday Michael

Videos to come soon but... like I have company staying over, I had a book party tonight (which was AMAZING), and it's already 12:30am and I know I will be up at 6am or sooner.

So for now I would like to say that he is one, it was a great day and the Internet is working much better today than it has for a week.

I can't get blogger comment pages to come up as fast as I would like especially at this late hour.

so in lieu of that I need to say:

Megan...it's ok surprises are fun. and yikes! that's a wide variety of toc-ing.

Heidi...Don't quit you're the only real reason I started this in the first place.

Jennifer...how hot did it get eventually?

OKOK back to Michael's Birthday here are a few pics and the video could happen tomorrow.

More later...I promise...

Done

Now my back hurts from sitting on the floor and it's 2 hours after my bed time. I'm exhausted. I am caught up but not commenting, yet b/c it's too late and too much to say.

Internet SPAZZ

okokok I meant to post earlier this week again but like my internet is spazzing and so I can't. I am now on Chris' laptop just posting quickly and trying to catch up. It is amazing how a day or 2 can make you feel like you've been out of the loop for weeks.
Hopefully the other computer can be fixed before the weekend.
Now I'm going to do reading and e-mails. So don't expect anything for a few more days there is a busy weekend coming up.

Oops!

I just had a tad of the blog-o-rama there. I probably won't do anything else all week now...oh well.
G'night

The day before

The day before we decided to go ahead and put those child proof locks on. :)

Michael...

Punk'd out in Tigger stuff.

Thomas & Gabriel

Do you think he likes it? Shannon would your train lover blow a gasket like mine did?

Emergency Prepardness Kit

For the preschool all the kids have to have one in case of earthquake (mostly) and other emergencies.
In The Ziplock bag provided place:
Emotional Comforts:
  • small stuffed animal (4inches or less)
  • Family Photo
  • Letter of comfort from you to your child
  • Small story book
  • Small toy
  • A few sheets of pare and a pencil

Survival Supplies:

  • One plastic green garbage bag and one grocery type bag to make an emergency raincoat, or a plastic disposable raincoat
  • Medications: any medications your child would require
  • Small package of Kleenex tissues
  • Small package of wet wipes or 10-12 sheets in a small ziplock bag

Food and Water:

  • Two items of food that your child enjoys- suggest canned fruit, tuna, granola bars etc. Please do not send any items that may burst when crushed such as pudding cups or foil topped fruit cups.
  • Two 500ml unopened bottles of water with your child's name on them. (Separate from the Ziplock bag)
Tonight I was getting Gabriel to help me put his Emergency Preparedness Kit together by picking out a story book, toy, and stuffed animal. I also decided to have him help me with the 2 food items, after very quickly deciding that Mushroom Soup is his favourite thing in a can I asked him what else he might like to put in and then I listed the suggestions off of the form. He said “Ooh Granola bars, because there are 2 in there and if Halle is having an emergency too I can share one with her."
I think this was really sweet and hope that if she is having an emergency too she likes crunchy granola bars, because it seems to me he would be crushed if he offered and she declined.

In another small note about this how/what does one write in a comforting letter to your child in case of emergency? What if I am in worse shape and won't be there to get him as soon as I can? I have to be vague, loving and reassuring.... A tough combo if you ask me.

$156.50

What can you get for $156.50? I sold as much of my kidlet stuff as possible and that is my 'profit'. I will be buying some new pants with my portion. Chris thinks that he is entitled to a portion too even though I went there and did all the selling. I let him have $50 which is a really good price for looking after your own kids for a couple of hours. I know I don't make that kind of money when I stay at home with them.
In other news...? A girl from my prenatal yoga class was there and we discovered that she was the only one who had a girl of the 8 of us.
Gabriel is watching Mulan.
Michael is sleeping.
I am exhausted. Although I felt compelled to blog instead of rest.
I will put pictures off the camera onto the computer soon but now I am going to rest and watch some Mulan.

Later Dudes

I will not be blogging tonight due to survivor. I might not blog tomorrow because of a playdate.

A nony mouse

I know who you are so why bother? I know you don't read... and only judge so why bother?
You are polluting the blogwaves with your negativity. I know you weren't negative here (yet) but you're bringing the whole place down, so why bother? Or is that what makes you feel best?

uh

I am having some problems here people.
  • Michael is turning 1 in 10 days and I'm FREAKIN OUT. There is no way my baby should be that big.
  • I have to have a party for him and I swore I wouldn't (long story involving husband and in-laws)
  • UFEUFEUFEUFEUFEUFEUFE!!!!!!!!
  • I am cleaning my oven from the spilled angel food cake from Gillies b-day before it gets gross....but I can't find a f*&^ing sponge (probably reasons my man could explain)
  • Laundry never ends
  • Business not going great but still really all my own fault.
  • I need pants that fit
  • I might be going to cross the line to buy bras with Michelle next week, which is exciting except I don't have ID that I am comfortable with (passport) for me or the kids
  • The downer about all that is that I will have to take the kids. Shopping for clothes of any kind should never involve children.

I don't have any pictures to post because I haven't taken any.

I am selling ALL of my baby stuff at a kids swap on Saturday so if you are itching to own something specific from the collection speak now or pay for it on Saturday in Cloverdale.

I think that's all for now. When my mood improves in a few days I might have nicer things to say or even pictures to post.

New Gilly link

Gillian has changed hers and therefore has a new link. I'm too grumpy to say anything else right now.

Done works for me

Some people I know are having done button issues and I thought I'd just see if it's affecting me too or not.

I am busy and have a headache.

In case you all forgot it starts tomorrow and I am the one who is freaking out! Chris is in bed already.
Night

All I am saying is this

One Year ago I looked like this:

Making cookies instead of supper. Babies are better when they are not inside anymore.:)

Have a nice day

Repair Man

A couple of weeks ago he was 'swimming' in the pool and decided that something needed fixing and so here he is with his tool belt, goggles and swim trunks. The basket is what he is using for a tool box because the one he got with the tool set is totally inadequate.

Ikea Catalogue

OK so I have a friend and she brought something to my attention. I am confused and I hope like nobody's business that she is wrong but can you all do me a favour?
Get your 2007 catalogue open the front flap see the nice family photo?
See the dog?
I think the dog is the reason the family is laughing.
Please help me out here and comment to me what you notice so that I can get this straight in my head.
Thanks
P.S. Flo this is why I called tonight.

Preschool

Due to extreme circumstances this week Gabriel's school has not started. It's a bit of a story and the only one I can think of so here goes....
Our preschool got 'evicted' from our building on a churches property as of June 30. There is a long and VERY ugly story to go along with this that I don't even want to get into but I might later.
We packed everything up into those big storage cubes where you have a minimum 2 months where you absolutely cannot get at you stuff. It took 4 cubes.
In the early weeks of July we were offered a classroom space in a local elementary school. ( Offered in this case means offered to be allowed to pay rent at and operate our program there).
Without any other options to move our building to another location or even simply our program to another location we took it.
For the last 2 weeks we have been moving in. Before the school was officially opened we were only allowed to be there while the custodian was there not really allowing for much time. And the storage cubes needed to be returned EMPTY within 24 hours or less of when we got them.
We managed to do this last part well enough and on time however can you imagine cramming an entire portable and 2 storage sheds into a regular little Surrey School District classroom?
Some things are at some parents house's, somethings are being sold and others were garbage and have been chucked out.
I have been there every day this week with my children trying to help unpack. Things are not ready, things are TONNES better but if I were a new parent to this school/program I would seriously reconsider. How are we going to be done for Tuesday or even Monday? I will not be going to help in the morning Michael can't handle it and Gabriel just pulls everything out and doesn't put it away.
On top of that I have recently learned confidential financial information that the rent we are paying to the school board is outrageous and we truly cannot afford it. Does anyone know how to apply for government grants? And how to get as much as possible? We need it and badly.
As a parent participation preschool we already have low fees and do major amounts of fundraising every month.
Not trying to complain the program is worth it but man the hard times.... Not really asking for help either (unless you really know the answers). Just telling this part of this story.

Who's driving that car?

I don't have any great picture stories to blog about today. But I do like this picture.

I warned you

I told y'all I was busy for a while. That's why I haven't posted. I have some good things coming up and if Michael would sleep at night then I'd blog at nap time instead of nap.
Baskin'- I personally think flo is just more of an appliance girl than a bag it type. She has EVERY kitchen appliance imaginable, just no bags.
hehehe
If you really want something from me then you'll have to call me.

Hi 5

A small note about this picture below: is can you see my kid behind the one with the suckie? And can you see that other boys do exactly what he does? You know that BOY right up front.... I just thoght it was great to see that even though everyone tells me it's "normal" I can see that it really is NORMAL.
Last weekend we went to the PNE and saw a live show. Hi5 is a TV show that Gabriel loves and we thought he'd like to see it live. They are singers and dancers. As far as I can tell it's what happens to people who sing and dance in high school, this is the job they get when they are done. He asked questions like 'is it like at the movies?' and we said 'no honey, they will be right there on a stage'. It was obvious to us that he had no idea what he was going to see. We went with his best friends family and they like the show on tv but they didn't get into it like Gabriel. He went down on the floor to be up close and to do all the dancing moves..once he got there he was mostly stunned (as you can see from the picture). He had a blast and I loved every minute of it. The memories of doing great things for my kids are awesome since I swear my mom never took me anywhere as cool as this. (As a side note though, I know my auntie took me to the childrens festival once). Both of my boys were dancing and having a great time.
