This is what I had going...basicly it's a rant that you can ignore if you like, Or you can rant back for all I care.

Earlier I wasn't able to get into this typing field, despite my many sing ins and sign outs and old blogger, new blogger business, it simply wouldn't let me. Type anything more than a title but, because of the desired title I felt like it would be best to have some content to go with it. Make sense?
I have strong opinions, I am a TAURUS what did you expect? I will speak my mind freely, this is me deal with it.

  1. Formula really is poison for babies, there is no good reason why you shouldn't be able to breastfeed until a time that suits you and your baby to stop, WITHOUT going to bottle of formula. The excuses of poor lactation, no support, not home for baby, preemie, are COP OUTS! I have read enough to know that you can overcome ALL of this and more if you want it badly enough.
  2. Children are meant to be in car seats in the car, in the back seat, for safety for reasons. I know you are probably thinking duh! but you would be shocked to know how many people don't buckle their children safely in seats. I don't care if in the olden days you didn't have to, this is 2007 and you have to. In the olden days there weren't as many cars on roads or as many 'Ns' out there or even as many ESL people driving around without a clue. Buckle them up for Pete's sake!
  3. Toilet Training is a parents job. NOT the child's. If you are too lazy to do it I think it's disgusting that you would change the diaper of any baby over the age of 2 years. LAZY. I don't care if you don't think your kid is ready I think that's BS and if they can train monkeys & handicapped kids I think YOU can train your child, give your child some credit and show some respect for your position as a parent! Kids learn more from their parents in the first 5 years of their lives than they learn all through school! (bet'ch'a didn't know that)

I don't really know what else I wanted to say since I started this days ago but... here it is for what it's worth. I am Mer and I am parenting with a purpose, not by accident, or by mistake, for my future and theirs and this world.

On a whole other note their is this sextuplet thing on the news and...I think they should have just stayed out of it. Let the parents make the choices, survival of the fittest sucks but that's the way it is. Doesn't God have a better place for these babies? Don't JW's have a God that will look after them? and their babies even if that means they aren't going to live longer? I'm not saying it would be my choice to refuse the transfusion, but if that's their belief then can't we respect that?

Peace out.

P.S. If you choose to rant in the comments be prepared, I will stand my ground.

I used Megan's sign in twice trick and voila! Now I know this one works.

Pictures

So they might be there for you and they might not, I can't see them when I view this page but I can when I preview it. If you can see them can you let me know? If you can't can you let me know?
Thanks

Things and Stuff

Thanks for the ideas about what to do about the picture thing and maybe when I have time and patience I will attempt to deal with it. It is Saturday and Chris is at work, this is normal and I just have to deal with it. I am doing surprisingly well with it.
I have so much to do right now that I am just sitting here, blogging. I need to vacuum, badly. I need to deal with my kitchen, my kids, argh everything.
I felt like I should blog just to let y'all know I am here and reading your blogs, so post something new already!
I wish I knew how not to make this a big bitch fest.
Ooohh I remember, Michael got a potty and loves it, HE WILL BE TRAINING IN FEBRUARY. No excuses. Who's excited about that? I have more size 4 diapers than I know what to do with and a GREAT friend gave me a whack of size 5 and bigger, but I am really hoping not to need them. Man I hope this works as well as it did the first time.

Wedding Story

I wanted to go on a vacation, a honeymoon was more important to me than a Wedding ceremony. I had just seen a few close friends go through the stress of picking dresses and bridesmaids dresses and flowers and centrepieces and seating plans and a church and a person to do the service and menu options and caterers etc. I did NOT want to have to go through that. Why would I spend all my money (or my dads in this case) on ONE stressful day? I can imagine it is enjoyable for some folks, but I know myself I am anal retentive and if it weren't perfect and if my mother couldn't behave herself then why bother?
More importantly I wanted to go to Disneyland or Disney World, not just any honeymoon. Chris got a travel agent and took care of everything, except he forgot tot tell the agent that we wanted to marry, there. By the time that got sorted out it was going to be another 5G for a Disney ceremony, and they don't do rushed weddings we were told by the representative on the phone. So, new plan a wonderful week vacation in Walt Disney world Florida including 4 days on their cruise ship the Disney Wonder in the Caribbean, followed by a night in Vancouver and a weekend in LAS VEGAS!!!
We got to Vegas at night and Chris' aunt drove us straight to the place where you get the license then she took us the The Plaza where we were staying (for free!). We were married on August 31st at the Chapel by the courthouse (that's it's name). A man named Jimmy performed the service and Susan (Chris' aunt) was the witness. Susan took care of a flower for me and booking the chapel, as she is a Vegas local she knows all the decent places. There isn't an actual fee for the ceremony, it was more like a tip for Jimmy, we did have to pay for the video and the licence.
I highly recommend this method. I had NO stress. The people that needed to be there were (Chris and myself).
Then we went and got changed into street clothes and went to some Star Trek Experience (for Chris). We had a wonderful dinner and went to see Austin Powers later that night.
Did I leave anything out? My dress was $20 and my shoes were $20 too. I wear the shoes in the summer and if I can find my waist I will wear the dress again. The license was $50, the hotel was comped' (complimentary) because Susans husband was a dealer there. The flight was dirt cheap. I feel like I got 2 vacations. We went and saw David Copperfield one day and a medieval jousting thing another night, I walked the strip in 104 and up temperatures, I went on the NYNY roller coaster (and LOVED it). I will never forget any of it.
Any questions? Does anyone else remember it differently?
I had a picture for here but, I got some error msg. that said something, and I went somewhere but that didn't help.

Replies

Yes, I have tried hitting refresh when it does that title thing.
Yes, EVERYONE knew that he was going to propose except me.
Yes, the surprise was one of the best parts.
NO, I still HATE scavenger hunts, they annoy me.

I am exhausted, the party/poker game last night was min. 3hrs. past my regular bedtime. I have a book party tomorrow night in Mission, so if you want to come call me!
I promise I will do the wedding story next.

The Proposal

This was going to be the wedding story but I changed my mind:) Enjoy, Miranda et al.
So...Where to begin? I feel like I should tell the whole story form the very beginning but I also think that is far too much and would take too long.
February 1997- I met Chris
January 1 2000- Chris gave me a promise ring (it had the teeniest tiniest diamond in it :)
2001 - The Proposal (this story is necessary). Chris' and my friend Chrissy who worked for a promotions company made plans with me for some 'Bacardi, girls Night out' Promo for her work, apparently Bacardi was going to pay for us to go out and promote them in downtown, part of their promo was that a Limo would pick us up and take us there, a very glamorous Bacardi night out. The Limo picked me up from work but Chrissy was NOT in it, I sat down and before I knew it I was being driven away. I found a rose and a note (that I still have) on the seat that read something along the lines of "when the driver lets you out follow the flowers and flames to something (I don't remember and I can't find the note right now)..."
My initial reaction was 'wtf I have just had a long day at work and I don't want to do any stupid scavenger hunt, I can't stand scavenger hunts'. The Limo took me Lonsdale Quay and let me out. There is a walking path through a small park/green space and every couple of feet there was a red rose or two and a red tea light candle.
I did as the note had said and followed the path between the two buildings, and to the left out on to a small pier where unbeknownst to me there was Chris on his knee. He asked me to be his wife and I think my answer was something along the lines of 'of course!' 'you ask such silly questions'. we the picked up the flowers and candles, walked back to the Limo and went for Japanese food.
During dinner I said 'So I'm not going out with Chrissy?' more than once. true disbelief.
I think the rest will have to wait until later.... Any questions? Did I leave anything out?

For Miranda

Since my dear cousin is shopping for wedding dresses and posted a delightful picture of a gorgeous gown I thought I would show her my wedding dress just so that she can see how similar they are. LOL. This is the easiest way I could think of showing her.
Maybe I'll post the wedding story too...hmmm if I feel romantic and nostalgic later.

Traffic Jam

ON the way to take Chris to work yesterday we saw atleast 5 cars in ditches or pulled over to the side. Trapped in the snow, my neighborhood has >18in. It took 1.5hrs to get there and about the usual 45mins to get back to 'town' (He is working in the boonies this week). I showed up for my 9o'clock appointment at 10:05. Why does nobody have SNOW tires? Seriously if global warming is happening than just be ready and have the right equipment. Oh sure all seasons, or 'good' rain tires are handy in our climate but who are you kidding? Low profile performance tires make me laugh the most, on sports cars in snow taller than the car. People are asses.

We stayed home from school today, there are too many people (who come from another land that is tropicaller than this one...I'm trying not to show any specific racism), who don't know what they are doing in the snow. My own mother, who has been driving long enough to be good at it but not so long that she doesn't go over 40km/hr at any time, landed her truck in a ditch yesterday. Anyway...here is the picture.

In other news the kids like playing in it. It's light and fluffy, not wet enough to make a decent snowball even.

Maybe

If I blog someone else out there (that I read) will follow suit so that I will have some entertainment. I have been playing that video game too much. I did just spend nearly an hour working on books stuff, I should also check up on an e-vite that I sent out recently and haven't had too many replies to. Hmmm... what's with people? Everyone I know lives out of my town? I thought I had friends here... there's always CrazyK. Yep, I should call her.
I need to download pictures for a more exciting blog than this. hang-on.

It works...this time

Whew... my blog will not be limited to the number of characters allowed in the title section.
I was extremely productive this morning and dinner is made! ha beat that! you can't. Perhaps I am out of last weeks little funk? I suppose only time will tell. Maybe being back to regular life is working for me although we haven't done anything out that hasn't been happening for the last 3 weeks ...yet (except have dinner ready!).
Whatever. Now I need to try and remember all the things I wanted to say earlier...now what were they?
Oh, it's OK to laugh at the 'title posts' I think it adds to the creativity of this space, and I couldn't really get carried away or anything.
Here begins rant of remembering what I wanted to say:
Why do people leave me hanging until the last possible moment?! For 8 days now I have been trying to get a hold of a girl who said she'd have a book party for me on the 9th. I sent 3 e-mails and 3 phone calls on different days, at different times in hopes of catching her. Left messages every time without trying to pester or sound annoyed (because I still need the business). At 1:20am today I get an e-mail saying they are all very sick and won't behaving a party. IF you are very sick then WHY didn't you just say so 8 days ago when there could still have been the potential to get something else booked for that day! If you are no longer interested then SAY SO form the get go! Don't lead me on! This business costs me time is my only source of personal income. I prefer honesty to FAKERY! It does not make me feel better to be lead on and turned away than being told no thanks form the start. Plus the aforementioned WASTE of my TIME!
On that note is there anyone out there who could please help me earn some money this January by having a party? There are double the FREE books available for January hostesses which can translate into more fun for your guests! It really is alot of fun...the person who has the party doesn't buy anything.
If you are interested please e-mail me or comment here.
thanks for listening

ok so I had a whole thing typed out because it was working and Michael hit the power button on the computer! Now it's not working again! GRRR.........

I thought maybe I could get in to the right field by uploading a picture but now there's no 'done' button for that either..I am FRUSTRATED

I have things I want to let out and can't because there isn't enough space up here...If only I knew how to make this stop happening..I've tried stuff

For Chanfra

This is what G was using to get toy cars out from under the stove while I was on the phone with my sister the other day. Enough said? It's the pokey sharp thing I was talking about.

Voila!

Hey! suddenly it put me on the right part of the page!!! I suppose I could go and fix up those other ones but I think I am going to leave it for...creativity...laziness?

So this isn't the layout that I selected but I think I am going to keep it too as long as it works when I publish.
Michael likes to wash his brother in the tub...it really was the cutest thing then the digital delay of the camera and poof it was gone.
The water is pink because of the bath paints. The wall is drawn on because of the crayons and paints. Thanks Mom (the one who reads this and gave them to the kids) but can you come clean the tub now? It stained their bodies (not the idea of a bath) and it ridiculous to get off the wall. It seriously puts me in crazy stress mommy mode. They really do LOVE them though...so I let them have them when Daddy is in charge, not me.

wow some days it really gets me when Post Secret changes...it has changed already tonight and I love it! I wish I could blog other than the title

bun was extremely sore and the air did it a world of good. It still won't let me type beyond the title. I have more to say but this is LAME this way.

To clarify it won't let me type anywhere other than the title! Michael was in undies for experimental purposes only. Plus I am a VERY BAD mom and his

Friday, January 05, 2007

Michael is wearing undies!!!
It's almost like mom is babysitting!
ha there's a good one eh?

Ring...ring...ring...

The phone is ringing... I can't find it. I am certain it's coming from the kitchen. It's not on the counter...it's not just on the other side of the wall on the washing machine... Am I going crazy? (refrain from I already am). Where is it...it's almost 5 rings then it will go to voicemail. I could go get the one in the bedroom but by the time I get the gate ope it will go to voicemail for sure. I know it's in this kitchen... we aren't in a mansion here I should be able to find the darn phone. It really sounds like it might be in the cutlery drawer. Nope I looked, it's not there. I must be really going bonkers now. Screw it I can make through the gate and into the bedroom in time can't I? Nope, but I can here the voicemail, I can here the message being left, I can't be heard though.
I found the phone... it was in the cupboard below the cutlery drawer.
Please note the cupboard is child locked. The phone is almost always out of reach of small ones. How did this happen so early in the day?
On a similar note my eldest son recently saw a play-phone with a cord and rotary dial thingy and asked "what's this?"
Where have all the good phones gone? Where is the rotary dial?

Thursday, January 04, 2007

I should be:

  1. Productive today (as yesterday was a near complete WASTE)
  2. cooking
  3. cleaning
  4. engaging my kidlets
  5. teaching them something NOT on Curious George
  6. wiping noses
  7. working Usborne
  8. reading this parenting magazine to get me paretally motivated

I should NOT be:

  1. blogging
  2. playing video games
  3. letting the kids moog-out on TV
  4. letting their noses run down into their mouths
  5. chatting on the phone.

P.S. I don't want to do the first list and I want to do the second list.

Boogers

I think my boys have had them since about September, with a few days off every month. I have friends who don't care and like to hang-out anyway because they know that their kids have them too or because they aren't afraid to build their kids' immune systems. I also have a few friends who are not interested in having us over when the noses run. Regardless of weather it's viral or bacterial, green or clear, they don't want to be exposed to it. I'm not saying share the booger love but come on, kids get sick now so that they aren't sick later in school when they will miss days. I bet my kids will have perfect attendance because they won't be staying at home sick unless it's REALLY BAD. I can't handle the weak. I don't get sick days so why should anyone else? I know they've done studies that say employers would prefer you stay at home and get better than bring your germs to work, I suppose if you aren't 100% they don't want you to even try? There would be alot of missed days for me when I am not ill per se but just not feeling like putting 100% into it. Maybe even more so here at home. Truly how can I be a perfect wife and mother all the time, every teachable interact able moment with my children... Aaarggghh I'd be crazier than I am now. I love my job (MOTHER) and I never want to work outside of my home again but seriously 100% for 100% of the day is unrealistic. I think I've gone astray from the boogers... oh well.
Play date cancelled family's immune system too weak to let boogerie kids come over.
Another day at home...or with mom since she's not usually too afraid of booger kids.

New Year

ha! actually I have nothing new to say except, yes I am here and yes, it's 2007. I hope to have some time this afternoon for something more significant.
Oh, yeah chip man...you sound like your brothers when you talk vegetables, legumes etc. and wikipedia.
