Dinner...

* The play-by-play for dial-up people is in the comments for the video below.*
Back to dinner, I find this is the hardest part of my parenting day. I have noticed too that I am not the only one sitting around wondering what to make for dinner that is healthy, nutritious and, the kids will eat it. I refuse to be a short order cook. Currently Michael is a minor exception still eating variations of regular dinner.
So what's for dinner that your whole family eats?
What can I make for dinner that I have all the ingredients for in my fridge/cupboard?
Who has a really good slow-cooker recipe for tomorrow when I will be gone from about 8:30am til 5pm (if all goes according to plan)?
I only have one slow cooker recipe that I like and I already had that on Thursday.
This post is a request for solutions and recipes. I have done some menu planning but I need it to include at least one more slow cooker recipe and some fresh ideas for kid friendly not junk food dinner. I would like to have pancakes for dinner only once every 2 weeks not once a week. I don't want to include Mc Barf in any plan, it is for absolute emergencies only. Got it?
Thanks
Also if you haven't got kids or at least one who don't eat solids, and don't know what I'm talking about then you probably have something for dinner that I've never thought of or you have this to look forward to. ha!

Some Michael good times

Blogcontageous

It's not that I waned to be sick, just like all the other kids. I would have elaborated but it was being silly doing the title only at the time.
To elaborate-- There always seems to be somebody out there that I am reading that is sick. And when that person (and their family) is better then someone else that I am reading gets sick. it sounds like the same thing that Kelly and Shannon had and yet I know for a fact that they live THOUSANDS of miles apart. So how does this work? I was always led to believe that you had to 'get' the germs form somebody else. But... How? over the Internet? Or is this just some kind of random thing that I am noticing? Did we all forget to dis-infect our keyboards and mouses?
The top 3 germiest places in an office are the phone, the computer and the water cooler. So, is it the same in our homes? Because we spend alot of time at our computers? But who put their germs on it in the first place?
So, today's lesson/thought... When doing Spring cleaning lets remember to do the surfaces we use often and don't wipe as often.
As an aside I would like to say that I have no idea how to clean my keyboard (alcohol?) because I haven't, I don't have sticky kid finger prints all over it, I don't prepare meals on it and it doesn't 'look' dirty. lol

Possibly a little too late for coherent thougths...

Is this one of those blogs where it's all just a bitch fest? Really? What's the point here? I am currently feeling the futility of blogging.
The funk seems to remain.
I had a lovely few days out of town with relaxing, free babysitting and even one night without children. Why the funk then?
I came home. Within minutes (like less than 10) I had the computer on, the laundry going, the kids complaining, and I had made 3 phone calls. I was lonely instantly. The house while relatively tidy (lots better than when I left) was still in a bit of disarray and the suitcase didn't help. Clean it up, put it away. Still toys and books everywhere! Literally everywhere! No food in the fridge (why grocery shop if no one will be here to eat it), no car to go get groceries, no real energy to bother making a list or trying to go get the car. ugh, that's just too much even thinking of it, I still don't want to it in the morning either. It just sounds like too much.
Tomorrow will be a busy day, groceries, Costco, bank, feed kids, keep kids happy, go to Abby for a BOOK PARTY in the evening. It's not even MY party it's Erin's first and I am SOOO happy for her and for Kathy for booking it and making it happen for Erin. I am looking forward to having a little visiting. However I wish I were the one making the money off of this one. As it is I plan on letting Erin keep the coin so that she can see how good it can be. I just want it to be good for me too, without screwing anyone over. I want to sign someone else up too, then I benefit more (3%). I thought that my special trip into the loops would get someone else, but when no one shows up for a party it's kind of hard to convince people that this is a GREAT business and they should be doing it too. (there was the hostess and her mom, no other guests). I am not dissing the hostess for not getting anyone there, I know you tried and I know people can be lame. it just sucks for everyone involved and right here right now this is about ME. (lol).
Did I bitch enough? too much? Was this an uncontrollable rant? Should I try to find softer, gentler words? a more delicate tone? something to see the bright side of? I know it's there....The party, our health (me & kids, not Chris') the roof over our heads, the car to drive, the $ to buy the groceries etc. I know there is a whole list of those type of things. Am I asking for too much? What am I even asking for?
The current list to Santa would be this:
  • Christophers health. We want it back and we want it like yesterday. (that's a bit demanding isn't it?) I am tired of kidney stones, ulcers and mystery aches and pains.
  • $5 mil. ok not quite, I think 1.mil would cover debt, buy us a car, keep Chris working and get us out of this basement.
  • To be worry free about it all. I know, let go, let God. I know pass it onto Him and let Him deal. I know that if you don't know what to do then do NOTHING at all. I know I should stop playing mental movies and mind games on myself. I know, I just want it to work.

I think that should about cover it, Dear Santa, sorry if I sound like a spoilt demanding brat, I am tired and think I deserve better. I am missing some things and I just want them back, a sister...or 2, a best friend...or 2, peace and quiet even if it's no where else other than my mind.

Shit, now I am crying.... I wonder if I'll even hit 'publish'... I wonder if I am letting it get to me just a bit much right now??? I wonder what they will say... will it simply be dude? and will that make me cry when I read it too?

Just give me one more minute!

I am sure that when this happened (2 or more weeks ago) I said "Just let me finish this, one more minute". When I turned around and said "now sweetie," I found him like this. I couldn't resist taking a picture. The funniest thing to me is the computer in the background and, what it (I) is doing while I told him to wait just one more minute.

Fads, trends, friends...

In certain circles where I blog about they are walking down memory lane. I would like to say that I am too tired to scan an ancient photo and write a heartfelt story about it. I also want to say, in case you forgot (or haven't been around that long) that I track my readers with a map thingy that only I can see, not for public viewing.
I feel like I should say something more, but I think the funk might be back which means I'm in no mood for this, certainly nothing worth sharing with my roughly 14 readers/day. Especially since I rarely receive comments from anyone other than my sister. (thanks dude).
For those of you who are mad at me for reasons I cannot explain....(possible chemical imbalance?) please just grow up, get over it and lets be friends. If you want to talk about it you know I can listen right? I might be stubborn but what's more important friends, sisters or being right? So I'm lonely call me... or e-mail.

same old same old

So, felt like I should blog...but about what? I know there might be someone out there who would like to hear what's new but since I don't know what's new how can I tell you? Make sense. Nothing new....

Saturday, husband not home

Kids, growing like weeds.

Mikey doing occasional pee pee in potty.

Gabe, smashing toys, throwing fits, saying funny things.

Business, a bit slowed down, needs to pick up. Got a few ideas for that.

Might go to dads for spring break and give kids to M-I-L overnight so I can go out with friends in nearby town. hey Nann that means you, Sue, that means you too. Need to make plans for that to happen.

Need to stop blogging and get Mikey to potty.

Need to stop blogging and get preschool work done.
